Commercial Legislation NYSCAR is passionate about the laws that affect our commercial Brokerage Business, both on a state and national level. With our affiliations with NYSAR and NAR we have a voice in opposing legislation that would hurt our industry as well as supporting positive legislation. This political “watch dog” function of our organization is critical to safeguarding the livelihood of our members.

Education NYSCAR provides educational opportunities for Commercial Continuing Education courses given by our local chapters throughout the State.

Annual Convention NYSCAR holds an annual Convention in June at the Turning Stone Casino bringing together members from throughout the State for networking, a mammoth marketing session and many educational opportunities. Broker Cooperation NYSCAR continues to foster sound, prudent and ethical practices, and to encourage and facilitate cooperation among brokers.

NYSCAR Standard Forms NYSCAR developed Standard Professional Service forms designed specifically for use by commercial practitioners. The standard forms include: Exclusive Right to Sell, Exclusive Right to Lease, Exclusive Right to Sell or Lease, Tenant/Buyer Representation, Exclusive Right to Exchange Property, Letter of Intent, Purchase and Sale Contract, Escrow Addendum, and Amendment to Professional Services Agreement.

Insurance Through our association with NYSAR, cost effective insurance is available for Errors and Omissions, Medical, Dental, Auto and Homeowners coverage.

Local Chapter Events the Metro–Long Island Chapter of NYSCAR holds several events each year:

Past events have included: Legislative Updates featuring our lobbyists from NYSAR and NAR; The State of the Island, also called Ground Hog day, where experts predict upcoming real estate trends for the area; Real Estate Jeopardy brings together six other commercial real estate organizations to compete for trophy and bragging rights; Banking Symposiums, a panel of lenders discuss current financing options and other events with Distinguished Guest Speakers.
